3 Year Old Son Vomiting

by Katy
(Hamilton, MO)

Last night my son woke up three times crying. I really didn't think much of it. When he woke up this morning at 7:30 am he vomited all over himself and his bed. He then threw up again 3 more times at 8:00 and 4 more times at 8:45..it is now 9:12 and he just threw up again! His symptoms include low grade fever, very pale and throwing up. He told me when he first woke up and threw up " Mommy you need to take me to the hospital. I am very sick." He hasn't spoke since. I feel so bad for him. Should I be worried?

Toddler Vomiting
by: Ingrid

Dear Katy,

Thanks so much for your questions. I am sorry that your little guy is not feeling well :0(. As parents we are uncomfortable when our kids are sick. You should call the pediatrician and get your son seen. It sounds like it possibly could be a stomach flu or virus. If he is asking to go to the hospital, he must feel pretty bad. A signal that you rather the doc take a look.

Be sure to keep him hydrated with gatorade, pedialyte, popsicles etc. Is he running a low grade fever by chance?
