Help With Vomiting Toddler 3 Years Old

by Kam

Hope you can help me. My 3 year old has been vomiting since yesterday evening. He cannot seem to hold any food or drink down. Says his throat and stomach hurts. Took him to doctors and he said it was a stomach bug and gave me dioralyte citrus flavor for him to have. He hates it. Can you suggest any food/drink I can give him. He has reached to the point where he is throwing up yellow fuzzy mucus. Please help me.

Thank you,

Kam

Hi Kam!

I am sorry to hear that your child is not feeling well..:0( Stomach Viruses can really be nasty and stick around for what seems like forever. I would suggest that an alternative to the electrolyte solution would be to give popsicles. You may also want to try making popsicles out of the electrolyte solution as well.

Gatorade can be another option, or chicken broth can be tried as well. The yellow mucus may be a sign that the stomach is empty. You will want to try and give "light" items. When in doubt always use popsicles because they are getting some liquid in their bodies even if it is in frozen form.

I will be praying for healing over your child!

HOW TO STOP VOMITING IN A TODDLER
by: Anonymous

HELLO MY CHILDREN HAVE HAD ROTAVIRUS A FEW TIMES, THIS VIRUS CAUSES VOMITING AND DIARRHEA, IN YOUNG CHILDREN, WHAT I DO AND THIS WORKS TRY THIS NEXT TIME, ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO GIVE YOU THE GENERIC BRAND OF ZOFRAN, THIS WILL STOP VOMITING COMPLETELY, AND PREVENT DEHYDRATION DUE TO VOMITING, THIS WORKS SOOOOO WELL I USE IT WHEN EVER THEY GET SICK AND IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM AND I GET MY REST, NOT WORRYING IF I NEED TO WAKE UP FOR ANOTHER EPISODE OF VOMITING. THIS MEDICATION LAST 6 TO 8 HRS AND ONE DOSE IS REALLY ALL YOU NEED, THEN THEY WILL BE FINE THE NEXT DAY.... HOPE THIS HELPS
